Privacy Policy

Dechen Study is a study app for Buddhist texts, guided reading, quizzes, and optional account features. This page explains what data the app may collect, how it is used, and how to request help or deletion.

Information We Collect

How We Use Information

Third-Party Services

Dechen Study uses Supabase for authentication and backend data services. If you sign in with Apple or Google, that company confirms who you are to Supabase under its own privacy terms. When analytics is on, it also asks country.is for a coarse country code for usage analytics; that service states that it keeps no request logs. The most recent country code is remembered on your device. These providers process data according to their own privacy terms.

Notifications

If you enable daily reminders, notification preferences are stored on your device and local notifications are scheduled there. You can turn reminders off at any time in the app’s Settings screen.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers needed to run the app, such as Supabase and the limited analytics services described above.

Retention and Deletion

On-device preferences remain on your device until you remove the app or clear them through app settings. Detailed usage events are retained for four weeks. A de-identified first-launch tally is retained longer so the app can measure installs over time. Account records may be retained until they are no longer needed to operate the service or until you request deletion, subject to legal or security needs.
